Jacintha is here!

Day One

Welcome to the Binning-Lang Family Blog

On April 22nd Jacintha Teréz entered our world.
Breech baby #2 for us meant cesarian #2 for Kari and when the doctors pulled her out, cut the cord and handed her to Josh his first words were "she's a big baby!"
In fact, she weighed a healthy 8lb 14oz.

We spent the first 4 days in the hospital getting to know her and Lily would come in during the days to meet her new sister. Here is what we've learned about Jacintha so far...
She's a snuggler
She's a good sleeper
She has the deep blue eyes of a newborn that make you wonder who this little girl will become
We can't wait to find out!

Lilian Meets Jacintha

Lots of people have asked us where the name comes from. When Josh and Lily were in India in December, they stayed with Margaret and met her friend Jacintha. Josh brought the name back with him and I did some investigating about it. We found that it is the Dutch word for Hyacinth, a spring flower that was originally part of the Lily family. Eventually the hyacinth became a class of its own.
